Dusty violet florals give way to mentholated herbs and crushed blackberries as the 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Pomona opens in the glass. It possesses a pretty inner sweetness and silken textures that soothe the senses as a wave of tart black cherry slowly saturates. A wall of aggressive tannins forms toward the close, nicely balanced by residual acids, and leaves a steeped plum resonance as the 2019 demands our attention and extended cellaring to show its best.
